Blackwell Golf Club was established in 1893. The founders of the club established a constitution and an ethos that has been maintained throughout our history. This has produced a true members club that prides itself in extending a warm welcome to new members and visitors alike.

The club, which is far removed from a large corporate golfing facility, is proud to have successfully preserved the traditions, standards and character of the game both on and off the course for so many years.

Membership at Blackwell provides a welcome escape from the playing pressures which are often a factor in the modern game. We rarely have starting sheets and our deliberately small and intimate membership allows the game to be played in a relaxed, friendly and competitive spirit throughout the year. Tee times are not booked in advance and foursomes golf is very popular, with many matches arranged in the celebrated stud bar on the morning of play.

To ensure that prospective members obtain a good understanding of Blackwell, applicants are usually invited to play 9-holes with two Committee Members and may subsequently be invited to meet with the membership committee to considered their application.
